Meal Plan With Me! {Month of April}

Here’s where you can find the meal planner I use! http://shop.carrieelle.com/collections/meal-planners

I started monthly meal planning in January and I am loving it! I was meal planning weekly previously and I found myself getting overwhelmed with having to do it every week which led to me getting into a meal planning rut! I wanted to share how I easily plan our meals for the month for a family of 5. I hope you enjoy!

  1. thnx for walking us thru your mthly process – as a single disabled woman (on a fixed income) meal planning is so important – esp for those days my health doesn't permit me to cook from scratch or those stretches of time I don't get out to get fresh produce – like so many of you wkly planning just got discouraging and so I stopped planning all together but my food expenses just got out of hand – I'm going to try mthly and see how it goes – thnx again for sharing

  2. on the back of the weekly pages i write out the entire recipe of the new recipes we tried and really loved that week. After several months now, I can flip through and remake some new favorites without forgetting where i found the ones we really loved.

  3. Lovely video, thanks for sharing!!! I usually plan weekly but have been thinking of giving monthly planning a chance! Must admit I'm a bit scared of the task hehe! But you gave me some great ideas πŸ˜‰

  4. I'm a working mom of three whom are all involved in travel team and rec sports. I've started a meal club and we meet once a month and make 5-7 freezer meals. It is a huge help! We do quite a few crock pot recipes and also casserole type meals that can be prepped ahead and cooked that night! My husband loves that he can help get dinner on the table on nights when we are the soccer or baseball fields until dark!

  5. i need to try the month in advance…. i have been in a cooking rut lately and planning this far our may be a big help…. we use to plan weekly but now my husband's schedule changed weekly and i havent been looking much, it is definitely hurting the budget and not so healthy since we grab food out.

  6. Ps I love this planner too! I just tried grocery shopping for the month too so we will see how it goes. I did go ahead and make an anticipated weekly list for the month with fresh ingredients that I'll need to replenish bc they won't last that long!

  7. We are a family of 4 and get paid every 2 weeks, so that's how I meal plan. I plan for 2 weeks and shop usually on Friday morning. It's working pretty well. I love to use the crock pot as often as I can – makes days less hectic. πŸ™‚

  8. Thank you for sharing how you meal plan. I have 2 questions, one is just a practical question. I love the pens you're using, they look like they write nicely, show up bright, and erase. I think they're Frixion, but which specific ones do you use? I looked online and there are different types. I'd like to get the same ones you're using. πŸ™‚ My other question is how do you know what you will feel like eating so far in advance? Depending on the day I'm having, I might feel like a light dinner, other days I might have a taste for a certain type of food. How does your system allow for flexibility, or do you rigidly adhere to the meal plan once it's created? For me, at least so far, I plan one week at a time, but I just plan 7 days worth of meals, not which nights we will eat the meals on b/c our appetites change. We decide a day in advance, or just earlier in the day, which dinner will be had. The meal planner book you're using looks very nice and functional too, I can understand why you are enjoying it! πŸ™‚

  9. Loved this video! It is always nice to see what others are eating for new ideas. Question though…what about leftovers? I have a leftover night once a week to clean out the frig. Do you eat leftovers for lunch the next day?

  10. I watch how Jen does it on u tube. She has so many recipes and links all that she has. She is a healthy eater so, it's great to great recipes from her. We have Slow cooker Sunday and left overs for late night work on Monday night. I do not cook on Friday, it's a fun night for us. I will check out this planner, the inkwell press meal planner did not work for me.

  11. I see you liked the Carrie Elle meal planner I posted on the Facebook page. πŸ™‚ I learned about it in Shelley's Hone Life. You should check out her channel if you haven't already!

  12. This has nothing to do with meal planning. Lol. But I love the springy nail color!! What color is it? By the way. Love your videos. They are so helpful. πŸ˜€

  13. How long does this normally take you? Oh I really don't like going to the grocery store once a week πŸ™‚ I plan and shop for 2 weeks. I have picky eaters so I feel like I cook the same things over and over. I hope as the kids get older they will try and like new things.

  14. My husband and I use Google Sheets (free) for our meal planning. A tab with a calendar with proposed meals, a tab with frequently used recipes and their links, a section for our grocery list, with links to area grocery store ads and a link to Google Keep (where we store our grocery lists) that both of us can update in real time. He can use his smart watch at the grocery store to check off the items he puts in the cart. I can be across town at another location updating the list.

  15. I love this I think I might get this Planner πŸ™‚ I meal plan per week and go grocery shopping bi weekly but I like the idea of planning a month in advance!!!! I don't have a full house but planning meals helps with my fitness and health goals!!!

  16. About how long does it take you to do the meal plan monthly. I meal plan weekly and struggle figuring out what to cook. I like the idea of monthly planning but afraid it would take me forever. Thanks for another great video!
