What would you suggest for a person that had to have an emergency stomach surgery because of being in a horrible motor vehicle accident and has now been reduced to a 1 ounce stomach with no digestive enzymes being produced and high sensitivity to most all foods. I drink lots of smoothies, supplement daily and am basically vegan already as I can't digest meat, dairy, eggs or any other animal products. Any help would be great!

  4. I've been vegan for three years, doing the daily dozen for two of them, and I'm really at a loss. I've been supplementing with B12 and vitamin D since day one. I did everything by the book. I suffer from IBS and it's one of the reasons I transitioned besides ethics. But for the past three years everything in my routine blood tests is going down, and I'm not talking about cholesterol, that's fine, I'm talking blood cell count and vitamins and minerals. And I lost bone density. When looking at my intake on chronometer and other sites I should be way over my daily needs, but the tests make it look like I'm just not absorbing anything. I really don't know what to do at this point. My doctors have never been receptive to veganism, some had never even heard of it, so all they're telling me is "just eat normally". So now I have no idea if I have just been doing veganism wrong or if something is really wrong with me. I'm open to any advice at this point.

  5. Regarding volume… Stop thinking 3 meals a day. Just stop. During the transition, GRAZE! every hour, on the hour, if you have to. But try to make sure you get a handful of everything – or make these big-ass meals and portion them up for "Hobbit-ing," several meals through the day.
    And use papaya or pineapple or mango. These are digestive aides. They'll help.

  6. Dinner. End of the day, who wants to cook? Who wants to eat heavy meats and wake up with part of it still in the throat?
    Breakfast is too busy and lunch needs to be big.
    Dinner and snacks. Celery and hummus instead of potato chips.
    I Am using the meat substitutes. I don't go crazy, they're good to have on hand. Have a hotdog at night! Have a kale and sweet potato burger! WTH? It will help to make the transition – it's a process!

  8. My doctor had me on paleo for autoimmune issues. I have done a couple vegan detoxes in the past (10 days at a time), and I felt amazing. Then I transitioned back to paleo and didn’t feel so good. I have now made the decision to go back to vegan for health reasons. I have to be on an anti-inflammatory diet for Rheumatoid Arthritis; I am avoiding meds. So today is day 4 on a vegan diet and it is going great so far. I am eating a lot of food, so I don’t feel deprived. My energy levels are up and my pain levels are coming down.

  9. I’m around 80 % with plant based. I’m letting go of or veganising my many years of recipes, I’m 58 yrs old. Making a Pinterest board with photos of all your new vegan dishes is a great help. For example, you can make amazing vegan frittata/quiche by swapping the egg mixture for chickpea flour mixed with plant milk.

  11. healthy tasting smoothies = very green tasting, LMAO….. I have done this not on purpose as I like them less green. I used to put wheat grass juice into my smoothies. It was a tedious process and now I just use kale and other greens.

  12. Thank you this is so amazing and encouraging currently I am eating vegan for my breakfast and dinner I would say 80% of the time for lunch I still eat chicken or fish because I find it really difficult to digest legumes but I will get there hopefully 🙂 🌱✌️

  14. I don't know if you will get to my comment. I am a new subscriber and I absolutely LOVE your channel. I have been vegan for many many years myself but totally went the "junk food vegan" route. I have been having some symptoms and had my blood work done and it showed my liver enzymes were slightly elevated and my thyroid was elevated . I own & have read (recently) How not to Die, Starch Solution, Liver Rescue, and Thyroid healing books. I am now making the transition of getting back to WHOLE plant based foods with no processed or junk. I wanted to know if you had any of these symptoms and if there was anything in particular that helped you. I have heart palps, lightheadedness, shortness of breath, (basically all of the thyroid symptoms)… I have ordered Vit b12, Vit D3, pumpkin seeds, hibiscus tea, nettle leaf tea, and plan to start tomorrow eating whole as I did years and years ago. Thanks for any feedback. I have so much respect for you! Thank you for sharing your journey. <3

  15. Question: I have been Vegan for a little over two years and I am still having trouble with the large amount of fiber in my diet. My gastroenterologist says this is of concern and that I should reevaluate the amount of fiber I consume— and lower my daily intake. Could you make a video with some suggestions on healthy lower fiber options for those of us struggling? When I do my own research the information I find is… well less than helpful as it’s mostly suggesting meats and white bread.

  18. After transitioning to a whole foods vegan diet, I found that I am sensitive to a ton of whole foods. I get headaches. The more of the culprit food I have, the stronger more painful the headache! It's the best foods for flavor too! Onions, Mushrooms, Citrus, Watermelon, grapes, Bell and red peppers, celery, White potatoes, plums, cherries & cranberries. I have had allergy testing and am not allergic but get headaches! Any suggestions or information about the cause or cure for this? It makes it challenging to eat a variety of whole foods and follow delicious vegan recipes that include these ingredients. Disclaimer- I am a recovered ED individual for over a year. I had ED for many years. Was thinking maybe my gut health has something to do with my sensitivities? Thank you for your time and all that you do for your viewers and spreading the positive message!

  21. I think this is great for vegans and non-vegans alike. I've been vegan for a year and I have to admit — I haven't always eaten the healthiest. BUT! This January I'm going all whole foods ftw! I definitely have been craving pumpkin curry lately.

  22. Can you tell me if you prefer the Insta Pot or Vitamix for soups? We have Nutribullet and Omega juicer we really like but right now in Canada I need some easy to digest soups along w the tubers! BTW cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger on sweet potatoes or pumpkin w drizzle of molasses is Devine!

  23. Lily 94K subs! I’m sure you’ll hit over a 100K this year! Been watching since the start and so happy for your evolution and success. You keep it real and can laugh at yourself…for real. And pls don’t ever start saying things like ‘my beloveds’, or how much you love all your subs just ‘so much’ etc. It’s so eye rolling and so not you (in a good way). I also don’t support any channel that disables comments.     I like to joke and tell people when I'm really hungry I just stretch my neck like a giraffe and eat leaves.

  25. as someone with gastroparesis, I can't eat legumes, pulses, whole grains, nuts, seeds, or cruciferous vegetables, so I use a pea protein powder and also eat tofu to meet my nutritional needs 🙂 but for the average person, no need to worry about protein

  26. Thank you what an excellent and well thought out presentation! I will show this to my husband later to help him understand why we are trying to eat like this; actually I am and trying to encourage him to drop foods with dairy in and processed foods.
