  8. I have cut all literally all refined carbs as well as white foods. I have been juicing and eating lean and green and have lost 15 pounds and many inches over a 40 day period. the thing that I seem to struggle with is my age I am 55 and post menopausal .
    I do get carbs from fruits and vegetables. Have you any comments that might help me along. Thank you for the videos. Nanny

  11. The scientific explaination is that the protein slows down the digestion of simple carbohydrates. This keeps your blood sugar from spiking. The main reason why high sugar and high carb diets cause weight gain is because it raises insulin levels. Insulin is a hormone that lowers the levels of sugar in blood. When blood sugar levels are high, your body goes into panic mode and releases huge secretions of insulin to get rid of that sugar any way it can. The fastest way to get rid of sugar from the blood stream, when not used for energy, is for insulin to 'push' that sugar/glucose into the surrounding fat cells. So, when there is no protein, fat, or fiber to slow the digestion, sugars/carbs will be digested too fast and spike blood sugar levels.

  15. I totally agree with what you said about what you put in your body effects your life and how you feel. I fell happier and healthier on a low carb diet. I had the opposite affect on a high carb diet, even when the high carb diet was mostly all so called healthy foods.

I was wondering if you gained a little weight. watched your "low carb lifestyle what I eat video" and you were looking a little gaunt. in your more recent vids, your face looks a little fuller, your skin is glowing and you are just looking just beautiful. something seems to have changed about you cause you look different to me. you even look fab in this video with what appears to be no makeup. Im loving it.
