Has he got books to sell? Yes! He is not Dietitian and yet acts s if he is the true nutritional expert. Low carb cannot work long term, you know why? Our gut microbiome needs as much fibre as possible, fibre from plants such as leeks, onions, garlic, potatoes, fruits, even quality bread contains plenty of fibre, honey contains microbes, we need fibre and more fibre, a low carb diet restricts you..shut up 'Dr' Chatterjee!
Dietitians what are they good for nothing they spew out information which is propaganda from the pharmaceutical and a medical association! They absolutely do no research on what they're talking about and we're supposed to believe them I don't think so!!!!!!

Please see FORKS OVER KNIVES. Cut out animal products. Drink lots of water. Take a B12 and D3 supplement. Eat a variety of whole plants, unprocessed plants. Walk. Meditate. Laugh. Fruits and vegetables, which are carbohydrates, are VERY healthy. Animal products are NOT.
Eat lots of [good] Fat, lots of green vegetables and moderate protein and no carbs.

I've lost over 10 kg in 4 months on a low carb high fat (LCHF) diet. Loving it, feeling great, & having no trouble sticking to it. I'm with Dr Chatterjee!!!
Refined carbs are bad but most refined carbs are infact high in sugar and fat (often saturated vegetable).
Sugar actually improves insulin sensitivity in healthy people check out Shirley Sweeny 1927.

an extra kilo??I've been keto for 9 months and have shed 78 pounds and now have the ability to safely exercise and shed more. please. the dietitian is being far to conservative.
I have not eaten any sugar at all, and no carb sources, i.e…bread, pasta, potatoes. For more than 2 weeks I have avoided alcohol and have consumed a few packets of grassfed unsalted butter, drunk with fresh coffee.
I dont trust anyone called Chatterjee. Nor anyone called Jebb!
The dietician's advice is from the same era as her haircut …
The problem is not about losing weight, but keeping insulin at bay.

The so-called expert is locked into low fat. She implies that diabetes is caused by excess weight. Not true is it? Were it so, there would be no slim diabetics. So 'any old diet' isn't good enough. Refined carbs cause weight gain, and insulin resistance; which is what really causes diabetes. NOT obesity alone. For Pete's sake when will these conventional nutritionists get their heads out of the sand and admit that their 'conventional wisdom' is NOT wisdom at all' further, it's WRONG, plain wrong! Doctor Chatterjee has proven it. Open your eyes and your mind Madam!

For people with obesity, T2D, insulin resistant, metabolic syndrome, the only way to eat to avoid all those problems is a real food LCHF way of eating. 5 kilos on a non satiating LF diet in a year it's ridiculous, it's a torture for a mere 5 kg.
